On Febuary 11, 2008 Moose Meadows Miss Missouri was humanely put down after ingesting blister beetles in the alfalfa
hay. It was a tragic loss of a great mare who was irreplacable to my breeding program. Thankfully her daughter
"Bailey" and the other ponies didn't ingest enough of the beetles to be toxic and needless to say no more alfalfa
hay is being fed, even though I have fed it most of my life in California, having something like this happen has put me off
taking the risk here in the Mid-west.
